Akasha ("Akasha," "we," "us," or "our") is a personal AI companion app, available at MyAkashaAlly.com and through the Akasha mobile app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the app, this website, and the affiliate program.
Account information. When you create an Akasha account, we collect your email address and any profile details you provide (name, age range, language, and preferences you set during onboarding, such as your Akasha's personality, tone, voice, and appearance).
Conversations. The messages you send to Akasha, and Akasha's replies, are processed to generate responses and are stored so Akasha can remember your conversation history. If you use voice features, your spoken input is transcribed and Akasha's replies may be converted to audio.
Wake-word listening ("Respond to Her Name"). This is an optional, off-by-default setting. When you turn it on, the app listens for you to say her name (whatever you've named your Akasha) so she can respond without you tapping the mic button - but only while the chat screen is open and visible on your device. It never listens in the background, when the app is closed, or when any other screen is open. This listening is processed entirely on your device using the same on-device speech recognition as the mic button; nothing is recorded or sent to us or anyone else just to detect her name - only the actual message you speak afterward is sent, exactly as if you'd tapped the mic button yourself. You can turn this off anytime in the app's Voice settings.
Avatar and appearance data. If you build or customize an avatar, the choices you make (and, if you upload a photo to help generate your avatar's appearance) are processed and stored to create and display your avatar.
Usage and device information. We collect basic technical information (such as app version, device type, and general usage metrics like messages sent or minutes of voice used) to operate free-tier limits, diagnose problems, and improve the app.
Purchase information. If you subscribe to Akasha Plus or purchase Sparks, the purchase is processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made and its type, but we do not receive or store your full payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we store a device token (provided by Apple or Google) so we can deliver check-in notifications to your device.
Affiliate program data. If you apply to become an affiliate, we collect the application details you provide (name, contact information, payout method and contact) to evaluate your application and, if approved, to pay commissions.
We use your information to: operate and personalize the app (including generating Akasha's responses and remembering context from prior conversations); enforce free-tier usage limits and process purchases; deliver optional push notifications; provide customer support; detect and prevent abuse; and improve Akasha over time.
Akasha's replies are generated using artificial intelligence. When you send a message, the relevant conversation content is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a response, and, if you use voice, to our voice provider (ElevenLabs) to convert text to speech or transcribe your speech. These providers process that data on our behalf to return a result to the app; they do not use it to build their own consumer products or contact you directly.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that help us run Akasha, including:
OpenAI — to generate Akasha's conversational responses.
ElevenLabs — to generate and play back Akasha's voice, and to transcribe your spoken input.
Firebase (Google) — for account sign-in and, if enabled, push notification delivery.
Apple and Google — to process in-app purchases and subscriptions on their respective platforms.
Streamoji — to power the avatar creation tool, if you choose to build a custom avatar.
Our email provider — to send account, billing, and (if you're an affiliate) payout-related emails.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
Akasha's replies are generated by artificial intelligence and are not written or reviewed by a person in real time. While Akasha is designed to be supportive, it is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, financial, or legal advice, and it can make mistakes. If a conversation raises a safety concern, please see a qualified professional or, in an emergency, contact local emergency services. You can report a message that seems inappropriate, harmful, or wrong directly from the chat screen.
Access and correction. You can review and update most of your profile information (including your Akasha's personality, tone, voice, and avatar) directly in the app's settings.
Deletion. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from the app's settings. This is a two-step confirmation and cannot be undone.
Notifications. You can turn push notifications on or off at any time in the app or your device settings.
Voice. You can disable voice responses at any time from the chat screen. Wake-word listening is off by default and can be turned on or off anytime in the app's Voice settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information (for example, under the CCPA in California or the GDPR in the EU/UK), including the right to request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below to exercise these rights.
Akasha is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We retain your account and conversation data for as long as your account is active, so Akasha can remember your history, and delete it when you delete your account. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Akasha is available in multiple languages and countries. Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your own country.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
